Frequently Asked Questions

Why go to therapy?

We all have a past and have things we need to get off our chest. Therapy is great for anyone who wants an unbiased, safe, judgment-free environment to help manage emotions, process past situations, gain new coping tools and so much more. Watch this video by The School of Life which explains the therapy process in a very simple and relatable way:

Does therapy work?

In my experience it works best when you are ready and open to shedding light on some of those dark places we each have within us. It is important to find a therapist you feel comfortable and connected with which like any relationship may take time. Exploring your past and those parts of yourself can be challenging and emotional, but once we tap into those places we can experience a weight lifted. It is a journey and not always easy but worth the ride.

When will I start seeing changes?

Each person and situation is different. Depending on the situation you can begin experiencing insight and/or changes as soon as the first session, but remember everyone is different. It can take time to become comfortable and open to the therapy process and once this occurs it can make it easier to go deeper within yourself to gain an understanding and perspective of your experiences. Being patient is important and reminding yourself that many times we've been holding on to some of these challenges for years so it will take time to shed a light and find clarity and compassion.

What if I just want to talk to someone?

The great thing about therapy is that is what it's all about. It's a conversation and process with an unbiased person who will listen and help you explore and understand troubled areas leading to processing, learning and making changes along the way.

For more information regarding potential reimbursement rates and out-of-network benefits contact your insurance company directly.
