Frequently Asked Questions

Why go to therapy?

We all have a past and have things we need to get off our chest. Therapy is great for anyone who wants an unbiased, safe, judgment-free environment to help manage emotions, process past situations, gain new coping tools and so much more.

This video by The School of Life explains the therapy process in a very simple and relatable way:

Does therapy work?

In my experience it works best when you are ready and open to shedding light on some of those dark places we each have within us. It is important to find a therapist you feel comfortable and connected with which like any relationship may take time. Exploring your past and those parts of yourself can be challenging and emotional, but once we tap into those places we can experience a weight lifted. It is a journey and not always easy but worth the ride.

When will I start seeing changes?

Each person and situation is different. Depending on each individual and experience you can begin gaining insight and noticing changes as soon as the first session. Everyone is different, so we can discuss expectations, worries or fears that come up. It can take time to become comfortable and open to the therapy process which requires patience. We can always discuss this if there are doubts or concerns about progress. It's a journey and often times it's not linear.

What if I just want to talk to someone?

The great thing about therapy is that is what it's all about. It's a conversation and process with an unbiased person who will listen and help you explore and understand troubled areas leading to processing, learning and making changes along the way.

Contact your insurance company directly for more information regarding out-of-network benefits and reimbursement rates.
