Hello, I'm Fei Yang, a life coach and a PsyD student currently pursuing a doctoral degree in Marriage and Family Therapy at the California School of Professional Psychology (Alliant International University).
Having immigrated to the US as a first-generation Chinese American, my personal journey has given me valuable insights into the complexities of acculturation. It's a mixture of excitement and loss, high expectations for the future intertwined with nostalgia, and courage born from moments of fear and uncertainty.
Coming from a collective culture where family and others' feelings are highly valued, I've grappled with balancing my own needs with those of my family. I've learned to differentiate my own expectations from others' expectations and to navigate the delicate balance of understanding loved ones while preserving my own perspectives.
As a parent of a young child I've faced and continue to navigate the challenges of balancing work and family life. I'm intimately familiar with the sensation of juggling multiple responsibilities and the feeling of being pulled in different directions.
In moments of balancing, juggling, and redefining ourselves as whole individuals it's entirely natural to experience feelings of confusion, question life's meaning, ponder our aspirations, and consider the kind of life we desire.
If you find yourself in situations akin to those mentioned above, I'm here to lend an empathetic ear and offer guidance. I've spent the past five years as a coach, specializing in both life coaching and career coaching. Clients often describe me as genuine, empathetic, and passionate. I bring my authentic self to every session, honor vulnerability, and have a knack for identifying strengths even during life's darkest moments.
My clients encompass children, adolescents, and adults. I view children and adolescents as the architects of their lives, experts in their own right. Adults, on the other hand, are resilient individuals who often carry a wounded inner child within. My mission is to empower clients at their unique life stages as they navigate their distinct challenges.
