Hello, I'm Shannon (she/her)

Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist #86366and founder of Shannon B Therapy group

*Currently accepting new individual clients

I am passionate and enthusiastic about helping people. I received my Bachelors of Arts Degree in Psychology from Chapman University.

After graduating college and working in property management as a customer service specialist this highlighted my desire to listen, learn, and connect to learn about all different people.

I decided to go back to school and received my Master of Arts in Marriage and Family Therapy from the California School of Professional Psychology (Alliant International University). I'm a member of the California Association of Marriage and Family Therapists (CAMFT).

In 2023 I became a mother which has deeply impacted my life and work to cultivate a deeper understanding of being a human, woman, parent and therapist.

I've been lucky enough to work extensively with clients from diverse backgrounds and throughout many different stages of life. I specialize in anxiety disorders, life transitions, overwhelm, grief, relationship issues and substance abuse.

Through integrative practices I help clients create more understanding and compassion towards themselves while learning more effective ways of getting through life's hardships.

I utilize Solution-Focused Therapy, Narrative Therapy and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) with a Humanistic approach to work towards attainable and realistic goals while managing unwanted behaviors. Additionally we'll explore parts of the past which may be effecting the present. Through conversation we explore patterns and potential areas of growth, acceptance, and change.

Many of my clients are working on their relationship with themselves. Learning how to value, prioritize and love themselves in new ways while gaining a deeper understanding of the wounds, narratives and experiences that have lead them to these places. This work often includes examining some of our trauma, beliefs and making space for our Inner Child (we all have one).

I value your uniqueness and honor wherever you are in your journey. I strive to foster a strong therapeutic relationship by creating an open and safe space filled with empathy, warmth, information and support. Humor and laughter are encouraged and important reminders of how not take yourself too seriously as we navigate what it truly means to be human.

Therapy can be awkward and together through thoughtful conversations we tap into and gain an opportunity to embrace our humanity and make positive shifts.

I look forward to working together.
